Technically, he's right.

Kai wordlessly jumped off the coffee table onto the couch, as he has done so many times before.  After a flawless landing he glanced over at me and proudly proclaimed, “This is how we jump in Spanish.”

No matter how calmly you try to referee, parenting will eventually produce bizarre behavior, and I’m not talking about the kids. Their behavior is always normal.

Holding my little people close...

I’ve long been a follower of the blog thespohrsaremultiplying.com, written by Heather, a wonderful mother to little Madeline Alice.  After being born prematurely in late 2007, Maddie struggled off and on with her lungs.  Last night she unexpectedly lost her battle.  I never “knew” Heather, her husband or Maddie, but this tragedy is deeply saddening. In a strange way they were a part of my life, sharing their adventures and struggles with me.

Today I’ve been reminded just how fragile human life is and I’m so grateful for my own children.  I’m giving my boys lots of extra hugs and kisses and thanking God for every moment with them.  I’m also praying the Spohrs will find peace and comfort in this difficult time, knowing that their little girl is suffering no more.
